During our road trip through the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg we stayed in the Bossche Suites in 's-Hertogenbosch for three wonderful days. I truly believe that I could count on one hand the number of people speaking the English language with an American accent. I love Americans; but I’m trying to make the point that this is not your typical tourist town that attracts hordes of my fellow countrymen. Which was a wonderful change. So we were very happy when the owner of the hotel introduced us to the Café Plaats Royaal.
We sat inside at the open window facing the lane in front of the café. It was obvious to me that almost everyone if not everyone at the café, inside and outside in the exterior sitting area were locals and they seemed to know each other quite well. Susan and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere while we all sat blissfully for a little while having a couple of drinks.
We revisited the café the following day for a drink and we remained very impressed with the place. The combination of the warm and friendly atmosphere, cold beer and very efficient service could lure anyone back time after time.
